Thiago Alcantara’s time in the Premier League was short and sweet with Liverpool and now he’s claimed Tottenham are going to sign an exceptional player.

Roberto De Zerbi stopped the rot on Saturday with a credible point against Brighton, with Xavi Simons scoring a stunning goal during the contest.

Tottenham have big plans should they remain in the Premier League this season, with a number of transfer links already doing the rounds despite no top-flight wins since December.

Andy Robertson has been linked with a move to Tottenham and now, it’s been claimed that Thiago would endorse that deal if it came to fruition this summer.

Tottenham would be getting themselves a very capable player should they be able to convince Robertson that his future belongs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Thiago has been quizzed on Robertson potentially moving to Spurs in the summer, and he believes that the North Londoners will be getting a very good player if that is the case.

He told Sky Sports News: “They are legends of the club. They are amazing football players, and it doesn’t matter where they go, they will still be amazing football players.”

Robertson has a wealth of experience in the Premier League, and Tottenham would be wise to get their recruitment sorted early should they stave off the threat of relegation.

Although Robertson is hardly young these days, Tottenham need reliable performers to help the club next season and that would make the Scotland star a useful asset.

Before any transfers can be spoken about, Tottenham have to sort their form out and with just five games to go this season, it’s imperative the team remain fully focused.
