Yves Bissouma marked his return from a club-enforced suspension with his first goal for Tottenham in their 4-0 win over Everton.

Bissouma was suspended by the club for the first game of the season after posting a video on social media of him inhaling from a balloon.

But having been unavailable to face Leicester City, he made his return as Spurs smashed the Toffees for four at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Heung-min Son also netted a brace whilst Cristian Romero marked with 100th appearance for the North London club with a goal.

Bissouma opened the scoring against Everton with a venomous strike and after the match, Ange Postecoglou explained what the midfielder must do to stay in the team.

Yves Bissouma embraces Ange Postecoglou

After Bissouma thumped home his effort from outside the penalty area, he celebrated by apologising to the home supporters and then running to embrace his manager.

Before the clash with Everton, Postecoglou spoke about Bissouma having to re-earn his trust after the incident and it seems as though all is now forgiven.

The 27-year-old appears to have shown a much better attitude at Hotspur Way in the build-up to the game in North London and is back in Postecoglou’s plans.

Bissouma back in Postecoglou’s good books

Postecoglou after the game revealed that Bissouma had indeed redeemed himself, however, warned him that he must continue to behave correctly.

In his press conference, Postecoglou said: “I’m not surprised because there is no doubt about his ability to do something special.

“But he needs to make sure he does everything right on and off the field to give him the platform to show who he can be as a footballer.

“We certainly believe in him and are giving him an opportunity, but as I said before the game, that’s not just a never-ending threat, at some point, you need to cut it and it’s up to him to keep it going.”
