Ryan Mason has emerged as one of the contenders as Tottenham consider replacing Igor Tudor due to recent performances.
Tudor was brought in to turn things around and help Spurs get out of the relegation battle and end the season in mid-table or, optimistically, in the top half.
However, they find themselves struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table, sitting in 17th place, one point off the relegation zone.
Ryan Mason is among the contenders to take over at Spurs…
What is your take on him returning?
Ryan Mason appears reluctant to take the Tottenham job
According to Dan Kilpatrick, Ryan Mason appears to be reluctant to take the Spurs job.
In his view, the former West Brom manager has the entirety of his career ahead of him and does not want to stake his reputation on this.
Getting relegated with Tottenham, even though he is taking over in April, would not be a good look on his CV.
Kilpatrick believes that the likes of Tim Sherwood and Harry Redknapp have been out of management for a while and would not mind coming in and giving things a go.
TRUE or FALSE: Tottenham must avoid Jurgen Klinsmann at all costs!
Mason wants to establish himself as a manager and after failing at his first job, he does not want to risk another massive failure.
Kilpatrick told The View From The Lane: “You see people that literally don’t have coaching careers at the moment, Harry Redknapp, Tim Sherwood, are desperate for a job because they’ve got absolutely nothing to lose.
“And someone like Ryan Mason, who, you know, theoretically has his whole, the majority of his coaching career still ahead of him.
“I’m sure he’s been cold called by reporters, and I’m sure people have been asked the question a hundred times in the last three or four months, you know, are you interested in the Tottenham job? And he seems very quiet. You know, there seems understandably from the vibes I’m getting to be a degree of reluctance there.”

Why Redknapp or Sherwood would make sense for Spurs
Tottenham tried going for a tactics-heavy relegation specialist in Tudor and it just has not seemed to work, with his future under consideration.
What the Lilywhites need is someone who can instil some discipline inside the dressing room and knows the club inside out.
Both Redknapp and Sherwood check that box and they absolutely love the club, so they would do anything to help them avoid getting relegated.
They would return to basics and communicate in a way that is easily understandable to the players.
It remains to be seen if the hierarchy decides to go for one of the former managers to rescue Spurs.
