Tottenham Hotspur should be concerned about one of their players who was signed under Ange Postecoglou.
We came out of the weekend having returned to fourth spot following our win against Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa’s loss.
However, it is not all positive with talkSPORT’s Tony Cascarino sharing his concerns about the performances of Timo Werner.

Worries over Werner
The German forward was brought into the club in the January window as a reinforcement to the forward line, but it seems not everyone is convinced by his arrival.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino has slammed the 27-year-old as an ineffective, predictable option for the Australian [1:25]: “Timo Werner now has played five games. Okay, now it’s a short period of time. Is he any different from the player I saw at Chelsea? Slightly, he’s worse. He’s worse.
“Honestly, he’s so predictable now. He gets on the ball, he sticks on the wing, and he’s standing there and he’s waiting for the ball. Now until Son come on, and okay this is later on in the game, I’d love to know what Tottenham fans think because he’s really gone unmentioned about how poor he has been in them five games.
“And there are moments you get with Timo Werner because he’s quick and he’s blisteringly quick, but he’s sticking to the wing. It’s like he’s in a hiding place where and you could say, well, the coach is making him stretch the pitch, make it as big as you can. But he’s having no impact at all. He’s literally on the fringe of a game, Timo Werner.”
“But Timo Werner’s performances, I’d be really concerned because he just looks like a reflection of the player I saw at Chelsea who just never really made any impact at all.”

Werner offering squad depth
Now Heung-min Son has returned from the Asian Cup, there is little doubt that our captain will make a quick return to the starting XI.
And it will be expected that the player who will make way is Werner given he has been playing on the left wing and has been able to provide two assists since his arrival.
However, that is dwarfed by the returns of the South Korean and he even made an instant impact off the bench in providing the assist for the winner on Saturday.
Although some may be worried by what they have seen from Werner from the starting XI, it may be interesting to see what he can do off the bench.
He is blessed with blistering pace and perhaps, in a game which has gone stale, he could provide a real threat off the bench.
It is still early days in his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and reports suggest that he will be made a permanent signing in the summer.
Richarlison is beginning to repay the patience given to him, so maybe Werner may just take some time too.
