Ramon Vega issues heartfelt plea to Tottenham fans amid Spurs on-pitch struggles

Tottenham Hotspur fans went into the 2024/25 campaign with a lot of optimism, but after a tricky start to the season, this is now dwindling.

There has been a groundhog day feel to how Spurs are faring this season, with the same old issues cropping up time and time again.

Tottenham have what it takes to dominate games, but they simply haven’t been able to convert their chances, which has cost them points.

In addition, Spurs continue to have issues at the back. It’s clear that Guglielmo Vicario is struggling at set-pieces, and opponents know this all too well.

All of this has upped the pressure on Ange Postecoglou, and while alarm bells aren’t ringing too loudly, there are some murmurs over whether he really is the man for the job.

Now, Tottenham cult hero Ramon Vega has issued a heartfelt plea to the Tottenham fanbase in wake of Spurs’ on-pitch struggles.

Ramon Vega wants Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou to get some leeway

Vega has taken to X to urge people to offer Postecoglou some leeway in wake of his comments over “always” winning a trophy in his second season – and the mixed reaction that followed.

“Please offer Ange Postecoglou some leeway,” wrote Vega. “He has presented the data and is gearing up for his second season with Spurs this year.

“It’s still early in the season, so there’s still an opportunity to achieve success and maintain the track record he had with previous teams.

“There’s nothing wrong with exuding confidence and being assertive about it. Hopefully, the players share the same mindset.

“Postecoglou had a great first season with Spurs, especially considering the team he inherited and the gradual integration of new players.

“ANGE, keep pushing forward and ensure that the players are convinced about winning! COYS.”

Tense times for Tottenham

Normally, a League Cup third-round fixture against a second-tier team would be an afterthought for most upper-tier Premier League clubs.

However, in wake of Tottenham’s poor start to the season – certainly based on pre-season expectations – it has now taken on a higher level of significance.

Hopefully Spurs can successfully navigate this tricky fixture and get into the next round, not just for the sake of taking a step closer to silverware, but to reassure the fanbase.
