Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin’s mother has spoken out about her son’s feelings on his move to Spurs despite not starting.
The Romanian centre-back made the switch to north London in January having played for the Serie A outfit Genoa.
However, it has been a quiet start to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Radu Dragusin having not started a single game under Ange Postecoglou.

Dragusin yet to start for Tottenham
The move to north London saw the defender snub two of Europe’s biggest clubs in Bayern Munich as Napoli to join up with Postecoglou’s side.
But it is a move which is showing the 22-year-old will require patience to get his opportunity in the starting XI.
Up to now, Dragusin has only been used as a late substitute with his three cameo appearances offering eight minutes of football.
However, speaking to Romanian media at a sports gala, his mother has provided an insight on how the defender is viewing his move to N17: “I wish he was here [at the sports gala], but he has training and is waiting for his turn at Tottenham. Italy is a very beautiful country, but England is also very welcoming. We feel good. Radu has his job there and we hope he’ll settle in.
“What we all have to understand is that Radu is a young footballer in a great team and we have to be patient. It helps him a lot that he comes from an athletic family, but education has been the main pillar in our life.”

Dragusin waiting for opportunity
It just goes to show how strong this team is under Postecoglou that our new £25m signing – who was wanted by Bayern – is unable to get into the starting XI.
Testament to the performances of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Dragusin is having to sit and wait for his time to shine.
It has to be said, hopefully that first start does not come as a result of either of the centre-backs picking up an injury.
However, it is really encouraging to hear Dragusin is biding his time and willing to be patient for his opportunity.
It could have been very easy for him to arrive – on the back of the interest he had – and demanded to be shoehorned straight into the starting XI.
But perhaps that goes to show just how much of an emphasis Postecoglou has put on recruiting the right people with their attitude considered in the process.
