Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin has been slammed for his decision to join the Lilywhites.

The centre-back landed in north London in the January transfer window, but his decision is already being questioned.

Former Romanian footballer Marcel Raducanu has torn into Radu Dragusin after seeing him play second fiddle at Spurs.

Dragusin rejected Bayern Munich

Joining Tottenham in the January transfer window will have been no easy decision for the 22-year-old.

After all, he did reportedly reject both Bayern Munich and Napoli to join up with Ange Postecoglou’s side at Hotspur Way.

But this is a decision which has been questioned back in his homeland ahead of this summer Euros.

Speaking to Romanian media, Raducanu ripped into Dragusin, questioning the player’s character for leaving Genoa. He said: “He should have stayed at Genoa, it would have been better for him to play as a starter until the end of the season. Then offers came by themselves, I say that he was a little hasty. Let’s be serious! There was no offer. Bayern, if they want a player, take him immediately. We don’t discuss. These were rumours.

“I know for sure that he had no offer from Bayern. Or, if he had, although I don’t think so, it means he’s either arrogant or naive. How to refuse Bayern? There’s no way, it’s impossible, there’s no way you can do this.”

Radu Dragusin Tottenham appearances

There is no denying that Dragusin arrived into a difficult situation at Tottenham having joined a seriously strong centre-back group.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have formed a sensational partnership at the back for Spurs this season.

One which has proven incredibly hard for Dragusin to break as he’s played all of his minutes from the bench.

However, the injury to the Dutchman has provided him with an opportunity from the start in yesterday’s game against Fulham.

Unfortunately for the £85k-per-week defender, there is now a break in Premier League football as players head off for the international break.

Postecoglou has claimed Van de Ven could return after the break, which may mean Dragusin returns to the bench.

If that is the case, then the Romanian has gotten incredibly unlucky with how the fixtures have panned out.
