The Spurs News have predicted how Tottenham will do in the group stage fixtures of the Champions League this season, and whether it will likely be enough for a top eight finish.

Despite a very underwhelming domestic season, success in the Europa League has seen Spurs qualify for the Champions League.

The format follows the Europa League style they played in last season, with eight group stage matches and the top 24 making it into the next round.

The top eight will automatically progress to the Round of 16, and this will be the desirable result for Thomas Frank as he looks to avoid an extra two-legged affair in the middle of the season.

We will now predict the results of all eight of the group stage games, as well as where Spurs can expect to finish in the group with those results.

Predicting every Tottenham Champions League group stage fixture

Tottenham vs VillarrealTuesday 16 September

The Tottenham Hotspur stadium will be buzzing next week as the top tier of European football returns to North London, and it could be the sight of a number of new signings making their debut.

Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani could be utilised for the first time, and there will be hope that Spurs will have enough to overcome their La Liga opponents.

Score prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Villarreal

Bodo/Glimt vs Tottenham – Tuesday 30 September

Spurs will be very aware of what their second opponents will be like after facing them in the Europa League semi-finals last season.

It ended up being a dominant 5-1 win over the side from Norway, and the most impressive part was putting the tie to bed in the second leg with a 2-0 victory away from home.

Frank’s side will be facing a tricky test away from home, however we think they will have enough to keep up their perfect start to the campaign.

Prediction: Bodo/Glimt 1-2 Tottenham

AS Monaco vs Tottenham – Wednesday 22 October

Monaco are off to a strong start in Ligue 1, and made it out of the groups during last season’s Champions League.

We are expecting a tough game in this one, with highly-rated attacker Maghnes Akliouche starting well in front of goal in the 2025/26 campaign.

Prediction: AS Monaco 1-1 Tottenham

Tottenham vs FC Copenhagen – Tuesday 4 November

The fourth game of the group stages will see a return home to face Copenhagen, who are currently top of the Danish league.

They had to come through three qualifying rounds to reach the group stages, and we believe this will end up being one of the more comfortable games for Spurs in this stage of the competition.

Prediction: Tottenham 4-1 FC Copenhagen

PSG vs Tottenham – Wednesday 26 November

A repeat of the Super Cup final awaits Spurs in the Champions League this season, giving them a chance to right the wrongs that came in the last few minutes of the European curtain-raiser.

Frank had set up to beat the holders perfectly in that game, however they fell away towards the end and lost on penalties.

We aren’t predicting Spurs to come away with three points here, with the PSG players at this point fully up to speed with things following their limited pre-season campaign.

Prediction: PSG 3-1 Tottenham

Tottenham vs Slavia Prague – Tuesday 9 December

The home games are going to be important for Spurs to assure they do have enough points to qualify for the latter stages of the competition.

At this stage of the season, the manager will be looking to fully utilise his squad and rotate his starting side, which could cause issues in this game.

We are predicting a weakened Spurs side to drop points, probably putting an end to their chances of finishing in the top eight.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Slavia Prague

Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund – Tuesday 20 January

The final side from pot one who Spurs will face is Borussia Dortmund, which on paper was one of the best outcomes they could have got.

This does not take away from the challenge they will bring, and any side who has reached the final of the competition in the last two years should certainly be taken seriously.

Their big game edge could give them an advantage here, although we believe the home crowd will make sure Spurs are not beaten in this one.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Borussia Dortmund

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Tottenham – Wednesday 28 January

The second consecutive game against Bundesliga sides will see another familiar opponent, after they met in the Europa League last season.

The quarter-final was far closer than the game against Bodo/Glimt, however a famous away win thanks to a Dominic Solanke penalty was enough to get them through.

We don’t think it’s going to go that way this time though, with Frank forced to settle for a point in the final group game.

Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Tottenham

These results would see Spurs finish the group stage on 13 points, an amount that would comfortably see them finish in the top 24.

Based on last season’s table, they could expect to finish around 15th, meaning they would be forced to take part in a play-off tie to qualify for the Round of 16.
