Peter Schmeichel and Glenn Hoddle have discussed Tottenham’s relegation after the 2-2 draw against Brighton in the Premier League.

Spurs twice held the lead against the Seagulls at home, but Roberto De Zerbi’s side failed to get the job done.

The Italian is still to taste victory since moving to North London in early April, with his side still in the relegation zone.

Glenn Hoddle and Peter Schmeichel remain unsure about Tottenham surviving relegation

Hoddle has stated that beating Brighton was essential for Tottenham to stay up.

As they failed to do that, he is still unsure if they will be able to avoid relegation at the end of the season.

In his view, the win would not only give them two extra points, but also the confidence ahead of some crucial games.

Schmeichel pointed out that the positive for them would be the fact that these games are away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Lilywhites have been woeful at home in the Premier League this season, and have been better on their travels.

Hoddle told Premier League Productions: “They’ve obviously got to get points on the board.

“A win would have given a little bit of confidence about themselves.

“They’ve got to show a lot of character as well. It could go down to goal difference.

“They needed to win (against Brighton). The jury is out for me.”

Schmeichel: “Good news for Spurs. They got three away games.

“They’re a better team away from home. It’s going to be very difficult for them (to stay up).”

What do the next games look like for Spurs?

De Zerbi could not hope for a better next game as his side travel to take on Wolves at Molineux.

The Black Country club are nearly mathematically relegated and potentially have nothing to play for in the coming few weeks.

They could even give some of their academy and fringe players a chance, and Tottenham must capitalise on that.

After that, they travel to Villa Park to take on an Aston Villa side fighting to finish in the Champions League spots.

They also have an away game against Chelsea sandwiched in between home matches against Leeds United and Everton.
