Tottenham got yet another win under Ange Postecoglou this season, this time with a memorable one against Liverpool.
The game wasn’t without controversy. Liverpool wrongly had a goal disallowed, there was a dubious red card and Richarlison nearly had it out with Jurgen Klopp! It was certainly a memorable fixture.
The win sees Spurs sit second in the table, one point off Manchester City following their defeat to Wolves. It’s shaping up to be an excellent season.
One of Postecoglou‘s star performers this season also shone brightly once again against Klopp’s men. James Maddison was electric.

Pundits rave about Maddison
The 26-year-old was a doubt to even feature, but thank god he did. He was instrumental once again, registering an assist for an assist for Heung Min Son’s goal.
“This is a brilliant, brilliant goal,” he said, as per the Sky Sports website.
“Maddison a pass of perfection, everything is right about this. The timing of the run and pass and Son gets in between Van Dijk and Matip.”
Meanwhile, journalist Peter Smith said: “That is a wonderful through ball from Maddison.
“It splits the defence and then Richarlison and Son combine to give Spurs the lead against 10-player Liverpool. And this stadium is absolutely rocking!”
He’s looking like the signing of the season
Everyone knew Maddison was a superstar at Leicester, but he’s taken it up a notch since coming to North London.
The English midfielder has played a vital role in Spurs’ excellent start and has settled in instantaneously at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham have been crying out for a competent creative midfielder since Dele Alli’s decline and it seems they now finally have it in Maddison.
He’s an absolute joy to watch and we can’t wait to do so for the rest of the season.
