Chris Sutton has been left stunned after what he has been asked about Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are still well within the mix to land a spot in the Champions League for next season.
But Sutton has hit back at claims it would be a failure is Ange Postecoglou’s side didn’t finish in the top four.

Tottenham’s top four hopes
The Lilywhites go into the weekend five points behind Aston Villa, but with a game in hand on Unai Emery’s men.
Spurs also face a visit to Villa Park over the coming weeks which will provide a huge opportunity for three ponts.
However, Sutton has slammed Ian Ladyman’s suggestion that some Spurs fans would be frustrated with missing out on top four.
Speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast, he said: ‘Failure? Failure is outrageous. Where did Tottenham finish last season? So how are we viewing progress?’
‘The thing with Tottenham – I’m not angry about it, I’m not aggravated about it – but are people quick to forget what he took over, who he lost, where Tottenham finished last season, the brand of football which they were playing, and then all of a sudden people have become used to this brand of football.
‘They’re conceding goals on the counter, they’re leaving themselves wide open, but this is what it is. And this is how Postecoglou plays. And putting all the things into the equation, I think Tottenham fans are really happy about where they are.’

Pressure on Postecoglou
Going into the campaign, it would be fair to say there were not too many who would have put Spurs in the top four picture.
And yet, there they are.
The summer saw some huge changes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a new manager and the exit of Harry Kane.
So it would be understandable to see Spurs fall well short of their usual expectations.
However, it has been an incredibly promising season under the Australian who may have surprised quite a few around the league.
Injuries have been a huge issue for Spurs this season and seen the likes of James Maddison and Micky van de Ven miss large periods.
Although the expectations of some may have shifted over the course of the term, missing out on Champions League would not deter the optimism surrounding the future in N17.
