Former Tottenham Hotspur player and manager Ossie Ardiles has been blown away by something Ange Postecoglou is doing.
There has been a lot to be positive about at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since the arrival of the Australian manager.
Ange Postecoglou has the Lilywhites battling away for a spot inside the top four once against after Antonio Conte’s desperate showing last season.
But there is something which the 58-year-old has implemented on his side which is seriously impressing Ardiles.
What has Ardiles said about Ange Postecoglou?
Tottenham picked up a point against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in their earlier meeting this season.
However, Ardiles has now suggested Postecoglou has Spurs playing in a way that even Guardiola does not have City playing.
There may be a fair chunk of points separating the two sides in the Premier League table, but it is apparent their style of football under Postecoglou is impressing.
Speaking to Yahoo Sports ahead of the game on Saturday against Luton Town, Ardiles hailed Postecoglou for the way his side attack the game.
He said: “And Ange-ball is very positive. He has them thinking about attacking the goal, all the time. Ange tries to squeeze the other team as fast as possible. We win the ball quickly and we attack. Even Pep Guardiola’s teams try to keep the ball a little bit, but with Ange, no, as soon as Spurs win the ball, boom, we attack.”

What Postecoglou said about the Australia friendly
One of the more controversial decisions made by the club in recent months has been their post-season friendly in Melbourne, Australia.
The game will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against Newcastle United just three days after the Premier League campaign finishes.
And it is fair to say it has not gone down well in the media with TalkSPORT’s Martin O’Neill left baffled by the decision.
However, speaking in his pre-Luton press conference on Friday from Hotspur Way, Postecoglou defended the trip back to his hometown.
He said: “With all these things, there’s always costs and benefits to it. You try to weigh them all up. My involvement in it is more around the footballing aspect.
“This is the club decision we’re making here, we take all these factors into account. We thought that with our season being so disrupted and not a lot of games, this was a unique opportunity for us.”
Regardless, this is not something which was going to be reversed by Daniel Levy given the financial gain which will be on offer for Spurs.
But it is certainly something which has not gone down well with a number of international tournaments being held just weeks into the summer.
If Spurs are able to see out the season with a finish inside the top four, frustrations over this friendly could be quickly forgotten.
