Tottenham should go all out for one of the ‘world’s best’ strikers in January – he’s proven he can do the business in the Premier League.
Spurs are not shy in front of goal this season, which is very surprising considering they actually don’t have an out-and-out number nine.
Granted, they have Richarlison and Son Heung-Min – but these two are slightly inconsistent and don’t seem to find the back of the net in every fixture.
A number nine will be necessary eventually… but who to fill Harry Kane’s boots? We think we know just the man.

Tottenham should go all in for Ivan Toney
They won’t be without competition, but we seriously believe Ange Postecolgou should go in for Ivan Toney in January.
The Brentford striker is currently out for eight months due to gambling offences but will be back on the 17th of January 2024. Conveniently, during the transfer window.
As we mentioned they won’t be without competition. Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked, but given their horrendous starts – he may be swayed to come to North London.
Thomas Frank recently described the England forward as ‘one of the best strikers, as a striker No.9’ and indicated there aren’t ‘many out there who is better in the world than him’
He also stated that he’d be open to selling him, for a price. We think this is too good of an opportunity to miss out on.
He’d suit Spurs to a tee and is PL-proven
Toney’s dynamic runs and boisterous nature would be perfect in Postecoglou’s free-flowing side.
The other aspect is that he’s already very familiar with the league, which is important when splashing the cash on a player.
Last season he got 20 goals in 33 matches in the Premier League. Numbers higher were only obtained by some of the world’s elite, Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.
He’s an absolute gem and everything should be put into luring him to Spurs this January.
