Tottenham not only have superstars firing for them this season – there’s a man on loan who has been particularly impressive thus far.

The man in question? Troy Parrott. Spurs allowed the young forward to join Excelsior Rotterdam in the Eredivisie on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old Republic of Ireland international spent the 22/23 campaign on loan at Preston but now has taken the plunge to go abroad and make a name for himself away from North London.

He’s making quite the impact, particularly in his last game – where he bagged the winner in an important derby match.

Troy Parrott bags the winner

After scoring his first goal for the Dutch side in a 3-0 win over SC Heerenveen – he has really announced his arrival to fans with his second.

Excelsior hosted neighbours Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday in a huge derby. The scores were level at 1-1, Parrott was brought into the frame in the 82nd minute as the home side looked for a winner.

It wasn’t until the 94th minute that Parrott found himself in plenty of space on the end of a counterattack, he bared down on goal and half-volleyed home in the dying embers to send the Excelsior fans wild.

He’s already won over the fans…

Despite only featuring four times, he’s already seemingly won over the fans in the Netherlands.

The last-minute strike has seriously put the loanee in the good books of the Excelsior faithful, and they’ll be excited to see how he can contribute to their side’s campaign for the remainder of his spell in Holland.

Parrott has already equalled his goal tally at Excelsior that he managed at Preston last season. The forward always showed glimpses of brilliance but looked uncomfortable in front of goal.

This has seemingly changed this season. Let’s hope he kicks on and comes back to north London an absolute world-beater.
