Tottenham Hotspur have had plenty of ups and downs this season, but one particular positive has been the emergence of several young players at N17.
Ange Postecoglou has not been afraid to give game time to Tottenham’s youngsters, whether they came through the academy or have been signed from elsewhere.
For instance, the likes of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have been getting minutes, while the likes of Will Lankshear have emerged from the academy to play senior football.
Arguably the most exciting Tottenham academy player to have burst onto the scene this season has been Mikey Moore.
The 17-year-old has already made 10 competitive appearances for Spurs, including four in the Premier League.
Now, Moore has spoken about his formative days in the Tottenham senior squad, naming two first-teamers who are helping him “all the time”.

Tottenham gem Mikey Moore hails Son Heung-min and James Maddison
Moore told the Spurs media team that Son Heung-min and James Maddison have taken him under their wing, and he explained how “star struck” he was when he first came in.
He spoke especially highly about the Tottenham captain, saying he’s a “great person” who’s helping him improve his game.
“Since coming into the first team, the gaffer and the coaches have helped me a lot,” said Moore,.
“I know a few of the coaches from when I was in the Academy like Mase [Ryan Mason] and Wellsy [Matt Wells], who I knew a little bit, so the coaching staff have been big for me.
“Especially Mase, he’s helped me come into the setup and they’ve made it an easier transition into first team football.
“All the players have welcomed me, too. You have to gain their respect first, it’s an environment where there is a lot on the line so you have to earn that, but all the boys have been really good.
“Sonny is helping me all the time and Madders as well, they’re helping me as a player but also off the pitch with keeping grounded and respectful towards everyone.
“When I first came over, I was a bit star struck! Growing up, Sonny has been an idol of mine ever since I’ve been at the Club and being able to play with him now is a big thing for me.
“Now he helps me and we’re team-mates which is a bit crazy to think but being able to play with him is helping me loads and he’s a great person.”
Postecoglou says Tottenham have more stars in their youth ranks
Earlier this season, Postecoglou spoke highly of Moore’s talent and attitude, and said “there’s some others” who are “starting to make some inroads”.
“There’s no doubt when we brought Mikey up last year and he played a couple of times in the Under-21s, he stood out,” said Postecoglou.
“Simon Davies and the guys in the academy were really strong about his potential, how he trains, his behaviour.
“As soon as he came into the training environment he showed no fear and that was the first thing you kinda noticed. He settled in really well. With others you think they probably need more time.
“There’s some others in there. In pre-season he was always a stand out for us. There are some others in there, some young boys who are starting to make some inroads, some a bit younger around the 15/16 age group.
“If you go through a successful period it’s more sustainable if you’ve got players at the club coming through.”
