Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in a reunion with Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.
Despite Harry Kane’s exceptional start to life at Bayern Munich, the German giants find themselves five points off the pace in the race for the Bundesliga title.
The former Tottenham striker has bagged a staggering 24 goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances this term. Yet, Thomas Tuchel is under increased pressure following a 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend.
And according to HITC Football, former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is ‘fascinated’ by the idea of taking over in Munich.
Mourinho keen on reunion with Kane ay Bayern
Mourinho was relieved of his duties at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium way back in April 2021.
The Portuguese boss’ exit came just days before Spurs were set to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.
At the time, Kane admitted he was gutted to see Mourinho head out the door at Hotspur Way after the duo enjoyed a ‘great relationship’.
Now, as the pressure on Tuchel mounts, HITC Football claims Mourinho is interested in the idea of managing Bayern.
It’s noted that the former Spurs boss would ‘relish’ the opportunity to manage Kane once again.
It’s fair to say that despite Mourinho’s shortcomings at Spurs, Kane was one player who thrived under the Portuguese boss.
During Mourinho’s final season at the club, Kane scooped the Premier League’s top goalscorer and playmaker awards.
But after Mourinho was sacked by AS Roma last month, we doubt he’s the right man to help Kane end his long wait for silverware in Munich.
The former Chelsea boss’ best days seem to be behind him and despite a Europa Conference League title at Roma, he hasn’t won a league title since 2015.
This may be one to keep an eye on should Bayern decide to make a short-term appointment if form doesn’t improve under Tuchel. But we’d be surprised to see Mourinho land the job on a long-term basis.
