Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has revealed how impressed he has been by Heung-min Son.

The Lilywhites are impressing massively under Ange Postecoglou’s watch, but there is still a lot of work to be done to secure Champions League football.

One player who has certainly played his part this season is the club captain Heung-min Son.

Guglielmo Vicario hails Heung-min Son

Tottenham’s Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has also been a player who has impressed massively this season.

He has recently been named the Goalkeeper of the Year at the London Football Writers’ awards.

But he has admitted there is one player who has seriously impressed him both on and off the pitch at Spurs.

And that is his captain, Son, who is enjoying yet another stunning season in front of goal in the Premier League.

Speaking to i news, the 27-year-old hailed the South Korean. He said: “Of course in terms of training, but I think the most important thing you can see from a captain is the way in which he behaves and he’s perfect every day in trying to push our squad to try to achieve the best and try to do the best day by day and try to improve.

“I think Sonny is doing unbelievable as a footballer but also as a captain and a leader. He’s very important for us.”

Heung-min Son’s Tottenham contract

Going into the summer window, the 31-year-old has just one year remaining on his current deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Recent reports are now suggesting the Lilywhites are looking to step-up their talks with Son over a potential contract extension.

Given the stunning form Son is showing in the Premier League, it is apparent he is showing no sign of slowing down yet.

The winger will turn 32 before the 2024/25 season begins, however, he is still showing some of his best form in a Spurs shirt.

Son has returned 13 goals and six assists in the Premier League alone this season.

And it is worth remembering he spent a number of weeks away in Qatar earlier this year playing in the Asian Cup.

With no signs of this form slowing down, a contract extension beyond next year seems a no brainer for Tottenham.
