Make no mistake about it, this is the worst things have been at Tottenham in a generation.
Yes, Spurs finished 17th last season, but that could be excused by the fact Ange Postecoglou clearly prioritised the Europa League over the Premier League.
So, what is Thomas Frank’s excuse?
The reality is that the Dane doesn’t have one. He is out of ideas on the pitch, and he’s out of answers behind-the-scenes.
Simple Question: How on earth is Thomas Frank still in a job?
Even the most sympathetic of Tottenham fans are losing patience, and that was summed up on TNT Sports by Les Ferdinand at full-time against Newcastle.
Les Ferdinand says it’s time for Tottenham to take ‘desperate’ measure
At full-time after Tottenham’s loss to Newcastle, Les Ferdinand was as shocked as any Tottenham fan.
The Spurs icon has plenty of skin in the game as a legend for both Tottenham and Newcastle, and after the game, he summed up Spurs’ plight perfectly.
“And Tottenham are obviously lacking any sort of confidence at the moment. You know, you look at the players that are missing and unfortunately for Tottenham, all their mavericks, their players, their creative players are missing,” Ferdinand said.
“And unfortunately, what they’re going with at the moment, then it’s not good enough. Not good enough for Tottenham at this moment in time and desperate times. But desperate times call for desperate measures.”
Tottenham need to copy Manchester United
Tottenham aren’t going to make anything positive of this season, that much is for sure.
However, if they don’t do something now, they’re in danger of being relegated.
Sum up Tottenham’s loss to Newcastle in three words
Luckily, there is a way out of this mess, and they only need to look at Manchester United as inspiration.
Michael Carrick has shown in recent weeks that a new manager bounce is a very real phenomenon, and Spurs are desperate for some sort of springboard at this point.
Get rid of Frank, bring in someone like Jermain Defoe or Robbie Keane to lift spirits, that may well be the route to some form of redemption for Spurs.
