Kevin Danso’s injury for Tottenham came at the worst possible time, with Cristian Romero currently missing through suspension.

Club captain Romero is under fire after letting his teammates down once again following his red card against Manchester United.

Danso is normally the next man up at centre-back, but his injury has come at an awful time, with Micky van de Ven operating alongside Radu Dragusin, who has played little football this season.

Now, some news has emerged on Danso, and it’s not quite as positive as Igor Tudor made it out to be after the heavy defeat in Sunday’s North London derby.

Tom Barclay delivers update on Tottenham star Kevin Danso

During the latest YouTube video on Barclay’s channel, an update was provided on Danso, with the Tottenham correspondent delivering contrasting information to that relayed by Tudor.

The head coach claimed that he anticipated both Danso and Pedro Porro could be back for the weekend’s trip to Fulham but Barclay thinks that might be wide of the mark.

He said: “He suggested after the match, Tudor, that hopefully Porro and Kevin Danso might be back for the next week.

“I’m not quite sure about Danso from what I’d heard, it would be a couple of weeks, but if the manager says that he hopes he’s back, then hopefully that’s really good news on his front.”

Tottenham desperate for players to come back

Danso has been solid when called upon in the Tottenham team, and it’s been a blow to not have him available at a time when Romero is out suspended.

The defender was also signed as a backup to Romero and Van de Ven, and it’s hard luck for him that he’s not been able to grasp his opportunity to play in the absence of the captain.

Tottenham should have enough to stay up this season, but ultimately it’s down to the players to ensure that they roll their sleeves up and roar back into some form.

Danso has the sort of fighting spirit that fans want to see from their players and hopefully he can be back available for selection extremely soon.
