Joao Palhinha has failed to scale the heights he did at Fulham since he came to Tottenham during the summer transfer window.
The Portugal international was signed on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich, and so far, he’s been struggling for consistency.
SIGN or SEND BACK: Should Spurs make Joao Palhinha’s deal permanent for £26m?
Palhinha has been forced to operate as a centre-back more often than not under Igor Tudor, and there’s hope that his form will improve.
With Thomas Frank who signed him now departed, Palhinha has spoken out about his new manager and it would appear that he’s satisfied with the work he’s done so far.

What Joao Palhinha thinks Igor Tudor has done really well
Palhinha has been a regular in the Tottenham team this season and it’s fair to say that fans were hoping to see a bit more from him this season.
The player has now opened up on the new position he’s been playing under Tudor and it would appear that he’s keen to make sure that Spurs remain united in their fight against relegation.
He told the Jogo Pelo Jogo podcast: “All coaches have different ways of playing and ask for different things, and that also ends up making you add different things to your game.
“I completely agree with you on that, in the times of the game variation that you are referring to, that Thomas Frank, for example, got more into the box, that was also something he asked of me.
“Now with Igor Tudor, with this new one, for example, he is already alternating me between the position of midfielder and central defender, in fact, midfielder, now he has already pushed me back, but we’ll also see how it will continue to be done or not.
“But these are all things, these changes also add good things, you know?
“And I think I have adapted regardless of the characteristics of each coach, therefore, I think it is a good sign.”
Palhinha and his teammates will now hope to aid Tottenham in their fight against survival, with the 1-1 draw with Liverpool stopping the recent rot.
There is still time for Palhinha to prove he should be signed permanently, but it does feel as though he will head back to Bayern Munich when the season ends.
Palhinha is clearly embracing playing at centre-back, but with Atletico Madrid and Forest to come in the next few days, it might not be long before the player is back in his natural position.
