Alonso has been linked with Tottenham, and Jenas admits that his time at Bayer Leverkusen would make it the perfect opportunity for him.
He would have to deal with the egos as he did at Madrid, and he would be given the liberty to implement his tactical philosophy.
Jenas told the Wildcards Podcast: “Xabi Alonso has just lost his job. We spoke about that. I think Xabi Alonso is perfect for Spurs.
“Perfect. Young team, a coach, you know, to come in and improve the players, different style of football, get confidence into them.
“You know, he hasn’t got to deal with egos like he had to deal with Real Madrid. It’s a much more similar situation to Bayer Leverkusen.
“I’d love to see Alonso at Spurs.”

Alonso works his magic best when he’s coaching young players and helping to take them to the next level.
His playing style relies on high pressing and younger players who have not been moulded to playing a particular way adapt quicker than some of their experienced counterparts.
For years, since Mauricio Pochettino’s departure, Spurs have been a side that have potential but have failed to bring in the right manager to help achieve it.
They thought that, in Frank, they were getting that, but it does not seem to be working out too well for them.
Alonso has not only been a successful manager but also a legendary player and would instantly command the respect of the Tottenham dressing room.
He seems to be the ideal candidate for the job.
