Jermaine Jenas says he’s spotted something that proves Thomas Frank will get sacked soon

Tottenham are desperate for some decent results after a rotten week, which has seen them lose to Bournemouth and be knocked out of the FA Cup.

Spurs lost 2-1 to Aston Villa on home soil on Saturday, meaning that it will very likely be a trophyless season when it comes to handing out the honours at the end of the season.

Thomas Frank is running out of time to prove himself to the Spurs fans. He’s overseen eight defeats from his 21 Premier League games, and his team currently languishes in 14th place.

Frank has been criticised for treating his players unfairly and it does feel as though the writing is now firmly on the wall, with the axe looming for the head coach who was only appointed in the summer.

Jermaine Jenas makes Thomas Frank claim

Frank needs some wins pretty quickly and with Nuno Espirito Santo under fire at West Ham, the game between the two teams on Saturday might be nicknamed ‘El Sackico’!

Fill in the blank: Tottenham should ___________ Thomas Frank after losing to Bournemouth…

Would you sack or back the Dane?

In midweek, Frank became the first manager to be on the losing side against Bournemouth for 11 matches, as the Cherries came from behind to win in the dying embers.

Prior to that, Spurs dropped more points on home soil to Sunderland as Brian Brobbey scored a late equaliser and during that game, Jenas spotted something that suggests Frank will be sacked soon.

He said on the Wildcards Podcast: “I don’t think Thomas Frank is going to last very long personally, and I only say that because I watch a lot of like players’ mannerisms like their body language when they’re talking to him or if he’s talking to them.

“I was watching the Sunderland game the other day, and you know, players are coming off the bench and just not even looking at looking in his face when he’s talking to them. And there’s a clear I don’t know, there’s a clear breakdown in terms of maybe what he’s asking the players to do and the players just not agreeing with it.”

Frank has to beat West Ham or it’s curtains

Quite frankly – no pun intended – Frank has to go out and secure three big points against West Ham, otherwise it really will be the end for the head coach.

This season was supposed to be one for real progression for Tottenham, with Ange Postecoglou handed his P45 despite winning the Europa League, with a 17th-place finish deemed unacceptable.

Frank has failed in his quest to take Tottenham to a different level and now all the roads lead to the manager being sacked in the coming weeks.

After a stellar job of putting Brentford on the map, it was anticipated that Frank would be ideal for Tottenham but right now, it looks as though the job is proving just a fraction too big for him.
