Manor Solomon injury latest

It was September when the Israeli winger last took to the pitch in a Spurs shirt having sustained a knee injury.

After surgery in October, he has since sustained a setback which saw him undergo the knife again to clean up the issue.

In a recent press conference, Ange Postecoglou admitted the 24-year-old is not close to returning and didn’t want to put a time frame on his return.

Since, Manor Solomon has issued a message on Instagram. He said: “Lately I’ve been away from social media and focusing solely on my rehab and getting back on the field. The last period has been the most difficult and frustrating in my career.

“In the past 5 months I’ve been working as hard as possible to get back to doing what I love the most, but unfortunately, I haven’t fully recovered yet. At the same time, I’m full of motivation and will continue to do everything in order to be back stronger than ever to help my club & country. Thank you for your support, see you guys soon.”

And James Maddison issued a reply in support of the winger, saying: “Can’t wait to have you back on the pitch brother”.

Tottenham’s winger options

Forgetting the dismal display at Craven Cottage on the weekend, Tottenham’s options out wide have really come into their own recently.

Heung-min Son continues to set the standard in attack, but the likes of Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and even Timo Werner have been showing their worth.

The latter is playing for his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the Lilywhites having until 14 June to decide whether they want to buy him.

Next season is likely to be a busy one for Spurs with European football of some calibre set to be played.

With that, comes the need for strength in depth and they certainly seem to have that out wide.

The return of Solomon could offer them with another option given he made a bright start to life in N17.

Inside his first two appearances for Spurs he was able to provide two assists.

He may not be a player who is able to earn himself a regular spot in the starting XI, but he could be a useful option given he already has Champions League experience.
