Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has named the player he thinks is the best to ever play for the club.
A lot of changes were made at Tottenham over the summer with Daniel Levy overseeing a big reset at the club.
One of the biggest changes was the decision to bring in Ange Postecoglou as the successor to Antonio Conte.
That is a move which Levy has undoubtedly got right and the Spurs chairman has backed the Australian with a number of impressive signings.
One of those was James Maddison after he arrived from Leicester City in the summer and he has added an instant upgrade to the starting XI.
The England international has enjoyed a solid campaign despite his injury issue earlier in the term.
And he has now been looking back on who he thinks is the best player to ever play for the club.
The 27-year-old is playing alongside a future Spurs legend in Heung-min Son, but there is another player who he feels was even better.

James Maddison absolutely loved watching one player for Tottenham
After making the decision to join the Lilywhites over the summer, Maddison was joining the unknown given the amount of change underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It is a decision which is looking like it has paid off for the England international as Spurs eye a spot in the top four.
Tottenham go into their game on the weekend against Newcastle United with an opportunity to pull three points clear of Aston Villa.
Although Postecoglou will not say as much, a top four finish would be a big achievement for Spurs considering where the club was at 12 months ago.
And they have made this progression without their club record goalscorer in Harry Kane.
The 30-year-old striker made the move to Bayern Munich just days before the season started and only a matter of weeks after Maddison joined Spurs.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the midfielder has admitted a top four finish would be a great return for a side who have just lost their best-ever player.
“The gaffer said it a few times, if you said in the summer this club’s going to finish eighth last season, and then they’re going to lose the best player to ever play for the club in Harry, then you’d be like, ‘hmm’,” he said.
“People start talking about it [being a difficult season]. But I think it always goes back to what the gaffer says about the project and we’re at the start of it.”
Where could Spurs have finished if Harry Kane was still at the club
Firstly, it has to be caveated that the business done since Kane’s exit may not have been possible without his sale.
However, let’s just place the 30-year-old back in this current Spurs side hypothetically for a second.
Spurs could go within eight points of the league leaders by the end of their game on Tyneside this weekend.
Spurs are playing at such a level without an out and out striker in their side.
| 23/24 | Goals (all competitions) |
| Harry Kane | 39 |
| Heung-min Son | 15 |
| Richarlison | 11 |
| Dejan Kulusevski | 6 |
Richarlison has chipped in with goals, but Son has taken on the burden of trying to replace the huge hole which Kane left behind.
But having that target man up top is something which Spurs have missed in recent weeks with Son playing through the middle.
If Kane was still at the club then perhaps Spurs could have found themselves in the mix for the title.
The Lilywhites have had to deal with a lot of injuries this season and still only find themselves a few extra wins off being right amongst it at the top.
