Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted he holds regret over an incident involving Tottenham Hotspur.
The north London derby is a rivalry which has seen a lot of controversy on the pitch over the years with scuffles on the sidelines between managers as well as controversial transfers.
However, it is something which happened away from the pitch which has been brought back into the spotlight involving Wilshere.

What Jack Wilshere regrets doing involving Tottenham
Back in 2015, Arsenal were able to get their hands on the FA Cup after easing past Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium.
In the days to come, when Arsenal held their victory parade, Wilshere shouted a foul-mouth Tottenham chants down a microphone to thousands of supporters.
Looking back on his career, the now retired midfielder has admitted that is something he looks back on with regret.
Speaking to TalkSPORT’s Simon Jordan, he said: “The singing on the balcony… so my Mum was an Arsenal fan. All her family was Tottenham fans. So I grew up with constant back-and-forth banter , but I remember just thinking that this is a moment I’ve been waiting for my whole life. My Uncle, biggest Tottenham fan in the world and I was just gonna give him a little bit and, of course, I regret that because because as you said, I looked like a Herbert.”
In the aftermath of the chanting outside of the Emirates Stadium, Wilshere was given a telling off by the club, but it is said the club did not consider it to be a serious incident.

What Jack Wilshere has since said about Tottenham
The history between Wilshere and the Lilywhites goes beyond the chants on the Emirates Stadium balcony back in 2015.
Wilshere has since issued digs in Tottenham’s direction with his dislike the N17 club clear to see.
Despite being just 32-years-old, Wilshere has now been retired for almost two years and has not played a Premier League game since 2020.
Back in 2022, Wilshere jokingly admitted he was fit and ready to receive offers from clubs, but not Tottenham in an advert he was involved with.
Perhaps the punchline comes in Wilshere having not been anywhere near the standard to play for Spurs in the best part of a decade now.
Spurs may have fallen behind the Gunners over the last year, but Ange Postecoglou is looking to build a side which is capable of competing at the top end of the table for years to come.
The Lilywhites look to be in good hands with Heung-min Son providing the leadership and experience following Harry Kane’s exit in the summer.
But it very much looks like Spurs are built now for the future with the likes of Destiny Udogie, Pape Matar Sarr and Micky van de Ven just some of the young options now regulars in the staring XI.
