“I’m not worried”: BBC pundit still sceptical as to whether Spurs can win the Premier League

Things just keep improving for Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this season.

Spurs had yet another victory at the weekend – but didn’t they just have to work for it? After a Yves Bissouma first-half red card for two yellow card offences, it was looking like they could drop easy points.

Nevertheless, they grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and dominated proceedings even with ten men. It was Micky van de Ven who got the winner in the 52nd minute.

Tottenham just seem to have that winning feeling at the moment. It’s still very early days, but sitting top of the Premier League – could they go all the way?

BBC pundits on Spurs’ Premier League chances

Some aren’t so sure. Following the fixture, BBC pundits on Match of the Day discussed whether the improbable could become possible.

Danny Murphy said: “Look at this, this is exciting for Tottenham fans. 28 teams, 26 of them with the start like this, have ended up in the top four.”

Gary Lineker replied: “Never mind that 11 of them have been champions, Danny!”

Murphy said: “I didn’t want to say that Gary because Wrighty is here and I didn’t want to worry you, Wrighty.”

Ian Wright simply replied: “I’m not worried.”

Let’s hope the former Arsenal man is made to eat his words at the end of the season.

Could they do it?

It’s becoming more and more of a possibility with each passing game. As we mentioned before, Spurs have found a winning rhythm this season and it doesn’t appear to be stopping.

They’ve also faced some phenomenal sides already. The likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and more have all faced Postecoglou‘s men – yet they still remain unbeaten.

Don’t get us wrong – there is such a long way left and things can change in an instant… but this season feels somewhat different to most.

Let’s hope this campaign goes down in Spurs history.
