Ian Wright sings praise of Spurs ace who is one of his ‘favourite players’

Tottenham Hotspur can do no wrong at the moment. They ended up as 2-1 victors against Crystal Palace.

Ange Postecoglou‘s men stay top of the Premier League table for at least another week, thanks to a Joel Ward own goal and Son Heung-Min strike.

They did conceded late, thanks to a fine Jordan Ayew half-volley – but Spurs managed to hold on to remain two points clear heading into Game Week 11.

Pundits are now really beginning to see just how class Spurs are – in particular two players.

Including some pundits that would rather not praise Tottenham Hotspur players.

This includes Arsenal legend, Ian Wright – who had particular beaming praise for two Spurs players on BBC’s Match of the Day.

Wright said after watching the South Korean captains goal: “It’s really good and bad to see at the same time, it’s beautiful play from Tottenham.

“Son is one of my favourite players, I’m delighted for him.”

But Wright was left in awe of James Maddison’s workrate for Tottenham against Palace and believes the £40m signing was absolutely key to the victory once again.

He said: “Look at Maddison, look at the work-rate, in the end [Marc] Guehi just has to put that out.”

Wright’s praise is definitely granted, these two have been ace all season.

Whilst Son is racking up the goals, it is Maddison who is often doing the dirty work. He didn’t, quite, get on the scoresheet against Palace, but his overall work rate and desire for his new club is what is really making the difference in games.

He is without a doubt the signing of the season so far in the Premier League. Long may it continue!
