Howard Webb has picked out what some Tottenham Hotspur players did following John McGinn’s challenge on Destiny Udogie.
Prior to their defeat against Fulham, Spurs had put down a real marker in their hunt for a spot in the top four with a huge win over Aston Villa.
Unai Emery’s side were even reduced to 10 men after McGinn lost his cool and lashed out on Destiny Udogie.

Howard Webb calls out Tottenham players
In the Premier League’s new initiative to explain why certain refereeing decisions were made, Webb and Michael Owen analysed the red card decision.
However, Webb did pick up on the reaction from the Tottenham players after their teammate was left in a heap on the floor.
Despite the challenge being reckless and out of control, Webb suggested the Spurs players’ reaction was done to get McGinn sent off.
Speaking about the incident, Webb said: “It’s interesting to see the Tottenham players. They don’t react to the referee when this happens. They run straight to McGinn. They know what’s happened in this situation.
“They’re trying to influence the referee into showing a red card. They identified that this is a pretty brutal action by McGinn as he kicks through Udogie and and it’s a red card, clear red card, and quite rightly ‘check complete’ by the VAR.”

What ‘ridiculous’ thing John McGinn did after getting sent off
It feels extremely harsh suggesting the Tottenham players were reacting out of anything other than anger.
After the challenge, numerous Tottenham players rushed towards McGinn to vent their disapproval towards him for the challenge.
To think that they may have even had the time to consider it as an opportunity to get McGinn sent off feels extremely stretched.
But what McGinn did after the incident is even more strange.
Journalist Alasdair Gold made note of the midfielder’s decision to not walk away down the tunnel following the red card.
Instead, he stood at the side of the pitch hoping VAR would have overturned it.
Referee Chris Kavanagh may not have got much correct in the game at Villa Park, but he rightfully waved McGinn away.
Ange Postecoglou’s men will now have to put their latest result right when Premier League action resumes.
Champions League football may potentially be obtained through finishing fifth this season, but there’s a real opportunity to finish fourth for Spurs.
