Heung-min Son heads into his tenth season at Tottenham Hotspur – a tenure which has earned him both the captain’s armband and legend status.
The 2024/25 season is looking like a promising one for Son and Ange Postecoglou’s side who are hoping to finally end the club’s wait for silverware.
Tottenham are back in Europe and will be eager to produce a strong run in the Europa League along with returning to the top four in the Premier League.
The South Korean icon will be hoping to have something tangible to show for his efforts in North London by the time he has reached his tenth anniversary.
Ahead of the landmark 10 seasons at Spurs, the winger speaks about the men who had the most influence on him during that time.

Heung-min Son names his most influential Tottenham figures
Son has revealed that Harry Kane, Ledley King and Ben Davies have been the three most influential figures for him during his time at Tottenham.
The Spurs captain is approaching 10 years at the club and has seen many managers and players come and go throughout the years.
Kane was the first name the South Korean mentioned as an influential figure on him, he said: “It’s H [Kane], he’s definitely up there because I’ve never seen a player like him.
“He can do everything, even as a defender he would do well… he has everything. But he works hard, nobody sees that he works hard, he’s always the first guy in the gym and going home last.”
Next, he named the only player who has been at Tottenham longer than him, Davies. The duo share a close bond with the Welshman making Sonny the godfather to his son.
“Second I would say Ben [Davies], as a human being fantastic and in 10 years I’ve never seen him differently. Every day is the same, he’s always consistent,” said Son.
Finally, he named Tottenham Hotspur legend King as his third most influential person during his time in North London.
The 31-year-old said: “Third I would say Ledley King, I think nobody has said a bad word about him. He’s still around the club, seeing him always smiling – I want to be like him.
“In the end, I want everyone to look at me like, ‘Sonny was always smiling, Sonny always gives good advice’.”
Heung-min Son ready to form another deadly duo with Dominic Solanke
Son is set to start the new season returning to his natural position as a left winger.
Last season, the forward was forced to fill in as the team’s number nine with Harry Kane having left a void following his departure to Bayern Munich.
Whilst, he still managed a prolific season in front of goal netting 17 times in the league, it was clear that playing centrally was not his best position.
However, with Dominic Solanke now at the club, Sonny will be given the chance to move back out wide and have a clear target man to aim for.
Having formed an extraordinary partnership with Kane, the wideman will now be hoping to replicate that partnership with the club’s new record signing.
Solanke scored a remarkable 19 league goal for Bournemouth last term and now having players like Son providing him, that number this campaign could go even higher.
