Ben Davies recently hit a special milestone at Tottenham Hotspur and his captain Heung-min Son has been full of praise for the Welsh international.

Ben Davies joined the club from Swansea City back in 2014 aged just 21 and the defender has since gone on to make 330 appearances for Tottenham.

The Welshman is now the current longest-serving player at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and has proven his worth considering Spurs paid just £8 million to get him.

The 31-year-old has worked under five different managers during his time in North London and is entering his second season under current boss Ange Postecoglou.

He has now hit a monumental milestone at Spurs which has seen him draw some serious praise from his captain.

Heung-min Son hails Tottenham teammate Ben Davies

Davies has now been at Tottenham for 10 years which is quite a milestone in this day and age of the game.

The former Swansea man has often been a squad option during that time but has always been primed when called upon by his five different Spurs bosses.

Heung-min Son has been at the club almost as long as the Welsh international and the duo share a very close relationship.

The South Korean forward is the godfather to Davies’ son showing just how close the pair have become in their nine years together.

Speaking about his teammate’s achievement via Spurs’ official X account, Son said: “I’ve been at clubs where I’ve been close to players, but Ben has been really special.

“I would say he’s my family member, someone I can really trust. He’s a consummate professional, a player everyone can look up to.

“Whenever he’s had to step up, he’s always shined and helped the team in lots of different circumstances.”

Ben Davies’ wife sends Tottenham star heartfelt message

Davies’ wife, Emily, has taken to Instagram to share a heartfelt message for his 10-year service to Tottenham.

She recognised what a special achievement it was to hit such a landmark at a major club like Spurs.

On her Instagram story, she wrote: “10 years is such a huge achievement, the longest-serving player at the club.

“He works so hard every day, on and off the pitch. No sacrifice is too big, football always comes first and he never complains. Even when things are challenging, he just works harder.

“Sometimes he doesn’t get the love he deserves, but that’s okay his milestones speak for themselves. A decade at a top club is something no one can take away from him and one day when our son is asked where his dad played. He’ll tell them you were at Spurs for 10 years. Something very few can say.”

Ben Davies, an underrated Tottenham servant

Davies certainly might never have been the most flamboyant player during his 10 years at Tottenham but he is a player every manager has been able to rely upon.

The defender has always shown a tremendous attitude despite often having to wait his turn for minutes with other players being picked ahead of him.

He’s earned the nickname “Mr six out of 10” from the club’s supporters having been a player who they can always trust to produce a solid performance.

One player spending 10 years at a single club often shows how highly regarded they are around the building by those in the boardroom, dugout, dressing room and the stands.

Davies’ performance levels and attitude towards the badge have certainly earned him that level of respect from everyone at Hotspur Way.
