Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed one of his injured players has suffered a recent setback.

It has been positive news coming out of Hotspur Way on the injury front in recent weeks with the Australian having almost every player back to choose from.

However, one long-term absentee, Manor Solomon, remains sidelined after a worrying development has emerged on his injury.

Manor Solomon suffers injury setback

It has been a difficult 2023/24 campaign for the Israeli having only made the move to north London in the summer from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The winger has been out of action since his original knee surgery back in October to solve the meniscus issue he was suffering.

However, in Friday’s pre-Brighton press conference, Postecoglou has provided a frustrating update: “He had another procedure on Monday on his knee, nothing major but still looking at another two or three weeks,” he said on Solomon.

Solomon could add real depth

The latest news coming out of Hotspur Way on the Israeli will be seriously frustrating given the bright start to life at Spurs he made.

In his first start for the Lilywhites, the 24-year-old was able to provide two assists in the emphatic victory over Burnley.

But he has not been seen since September.

We have since brought in the likes of Timo Werner so we aren’t exactly struggling for options out wide, however, it would certainly be exciting to see Solomon return to the squad and provide competition.

With Heung-min Son back from the Asian Cup and Richarlison scoring goals for fun, it’s probably fair to say he may have been struggling for game time anyway.

But with Champions League football to play for, strong options off the bench cannot be underestimated.
