Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-0 by Manchester United as the wait for a Premier League win goes on.
Not since 28th December have Spurs tasted the sweetness of all three points in the Premier League, with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace the last time a domestic win was claimed.
The task at Old Trafford against a resurgent Manchester United was made all the more difficult after the early red card for Cristian Romero, who saw red for a high challenge on Casemiro.
Cristian Romero should be stripped of the Tottenham captaincy after this…
He has let his team down way too many times! 😠
It’s a case of deja vu for Romero, who seemingly can’t seem to stay on the field, with the captain now set to miss out for the next four Premier League matches.
After the game, Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario shared how he was feeling in the dressing room and also mentioned what the captain did.

Guglielmo Vicario shares what Cristian Romero did after Tottenham defeat
The Tottenham goalkeeper did his best to ensure that the score stayed respectable at Old Trafford, and after the game, he’s been quizzed on what Romero did afterwards.
It’s not the first time the captain has let his teammates down with a needless sending off, and clearly, there is something there for the Argentine player to work on going forward.
Vicario told the press: “He is disappointed because he knows this red card could have been avoided, so he apologised.
“He is our captain, and today he made a mistake, but we know the player he is, and he is going to come back stronger and help us massively throughout the season.”
Frank now has decision to make on Romero
Frank needs a captain to lead by example on the field, and there is now an argument that Romero simply misses too many games of football to be considered the club captain.
With Tottenham in rotten Premier League form, they need a captain they can count on and not one who is going to be sat in the stands for the next four games.
HOW MANY points will Tottenham get from the four Premier League matches Cristian Romero will miss…
Tell us in the comments… 👀
Romero has plenty to ponder during his latest spell out of the team and for Frank, there must now be doubt in his mind as to whether the defender can continue in his role.
The fact that his teammates appear to be behind Romero is probably a good thing, but it will be intriguing to see if Frank makes a big call nonetheless.
