Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son is set to return to Hotspur Way and it is apparent Giovani Lo Celso is excited to see the South Korean.

The 31-year-old has been away over the last month on international duty at the Asian Cup which has taken place in Qatar.

However, South Korea’s loss in the semi-final against Jordan will now see Son return to Tottenham to pick back up on Premier League action.

When will Heung-min Son return to Tottenham?

According to Alasdair Gold, captain Son is expected back at Hotspur Way on Thursday following South Korea’s defeat on Tuesday.

This comes ahead of Tottenham’s next Premier League game on Saturday at home to European rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.

And Lo Celso wasted no time in sending a heartwarming response to Son’s post on Instagram after Korea’s defeat: “We are waiting for you my friend,” the Argentine wrote.

Son will likely be assessed upon his return to the training facilities in north London which will provide Ange Postecoglou a better idea of the player’s fitness.

Whether or not the Korean will make an instant return to the starting XI is yet to be seen, however, Spurs have certainly missed his goals from the left wing.

Should Heung-min Son start vs Brighton?

It is one of those games which feels like Spurs will need their strongest team on the pitch for with Roberto De Zerbi’s men impressing over recent months.

And having Son back on the pitch would feel like a huge boost given the form he has shown already this season.

After a below-par campaign under Antonio Conte last season, Son has already returned to his best with Postecoglou at thenhelm.

Over his 20 Premier League appearances, Son has been able to return a seriously impressive 12 goals and five assists.

Timo Werner has filled in for the Spurs captain and has offered a solid replacement with two assists in his three league games.

But if Son is fit and ready to go for the weekend, surely Postecoglou has to give him the nod in what would provide the home fans a huge boost ahead of kick-off.
