Tottenham Hotspur were beaten by Newcastle United to push Thomas Frank close to the brink.
Spurs were pretty abject once again as an injury-depleted squad succumbed to a Magpies team who came into the game in awful domestic form themselves.
Archie Gray did haul Tottenham level after Malick Thiaw’s opening goal, but Jacob Ramsey ensured a very happy trip to London for Newcastle.
Sum up Tottenham’s loss to Newcastle in three words
Jamie O’Hara thinks Frank has to be sacked by Tottenham and after several thousand fans booed the head coach last night, the writing simply has to be on the wall.
One Tottenham star was fuming as he watched on last night, although he did at least express some sympathy with one player who cut a forlorn figure last night.

The Tottenham player Gary Stevens feels sorry for
It’s fair to say that Dominic Solanke is doing his very best to try and score the goals that can revive Tottenham and ensure the team pulls higher up the Premier League table.
Solanke scored two very important goals against Manchester City recently, but last night, he was starved of service, with the striker doing more defensive duties than his actual job.
Stevens expressed sympathy for Solanke as he covered the game for Premier League Productions last night, with the talisman not getting anywhere near enough chances created for him.
He said: “There are lots of circumstances that have arguably conspired against Spurs, but when you look at the money they spent in the summer, you know, they strengthened, they brought in a new coach that would give them apparently more solidity.
“And that hasn’t worked out for them. So, you know, anything that could go wrong is going wrong. I feel desperately sorry for Dominic Solanke up front. He’s not long back from a long-term injury. You know, he gets no service because Spurs can’t keep the ball and get up the park.”
Thomas Frank was let down in January
Nothing against Conor Gallagher and Souza who the club did sign in January, but Tottenham had to go big on a creative spark for the final third.
It’s no good having a player like Solanke spearheading the attack and then stifling the service to him.
Frank hasn’t covered himself in glory at Tottenham but the hierarchy have hardly helped him when the Dane will have made the club completely aware that reinforcements were needed to compensate for a number of attacking injuries.
It now remains to be seen what the Tottenham hierarchy decides to do with Frank, and with Arsenal up next in the Premier League, a decision and some clarity need to be forthcoming very soon.
