Gary Lineker and Micah Richards agree ex-Tottenham star has ‘best celebration in Premier League history’

On an episode of Match of the Day’s Top 10s, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards sat down with Gary Lineker to discuss their ‘best celebration in Premier League history’.

Richards decided that his number one had to be former Tottenham Hotspur striker – Peter Crouch, for his infamous robot celebration.

“It’s the best,” said Richards, and Lineker was inclined to agree.

“The decision has come down to me,” said Lineker. “I’m obviously going to go for Peter Crouch. It was novel. It was different.”

Shearer, the only man to disagree, instead opted for his signature celebration of a raised arm, synonymous with his time at Blackburn and Newcastle United

When did Peter Crouch first do ‘the robot’ celebration?

Peter Crouch didn’t showcase his infamous goal celebration until 2006.

In the summer of 2006, Crouch first performed it after his goal for England against Hungary at Old Trafford.

Crouch later revealed that this wasn’t the first time he busted out the move, with this being at none other than a David Beckham house party. As you do.

He later brought it to the Premier League, where it became nothing short of iconic.
