Moments missed from Tottenham vs Hearts friendly
Djed Spence inclusion
An outcast since arriving in North London, Spence was a surprise inclusion in the Spurs squad, having recently seen his permanent move to Genoa fall through after the Italian side failed to exercise the buy option in the Englishman’s loan.
Spence was one of eleven Spurs changes at half-time, with the full-back providing a very impressive 45-minute cameo, grabbing himself a goal and an assist from right-back.
Lack of centre-backs
Tottenham entered the fixture without any of their senior centre backs with Cristian Romero, Radu Dragusin and Micky van de Ven, all yet to return from international duty.
This meant Oliver Skipp and new signing Archie Gray had to deputise at centrehalf, with 19-year-old Ashley Phillips the only other centre-back included in the Tottenham squad.
The return of Manor Solomon
The game saw the long-awaited return of Manor Solomon, who started on the left of a front three for Spurs. It was the winger’s first Tottenham appearance since September, having been on the treatment table for the last eight months following a serious meniscus injury.

Normally deployed as a number ten, it was a surprise to see the youngster deployed at full-back, he however impressed in defence – adapting to the inverted full-back role in comfortable fashion.
Maddison injury
The Tottenham talisman impressed in the first-half, providing the assist for Johnson’s goal. Spurs fans however were left worried when the Englishman was whipped out from a late tackle by Cameron Devlin.
Maddison would go down holding his ankle, an injury he is of course familiar with having missed three months of last season with an ankle injury.
