Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now provided an insight on Ange Postecoglou’s relationship with Daniel Levy after Tuesday night.

Tottenham Hotspur‘s defeat to Manchester City earlier in the week sparked a shock reaction out of Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian let rip on one Tottenham fan during the game and then unleashed his frustrations during the post-match press conference.

With no Champions League football on the table for Tottenham going into their game on the weekend against Sheffield United, there could well be questions hanging over the plans for the transfer window.

And the comments made in the wake of the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could well have caused an issue with the chairman, Daniel Levy.

However, Romano has now provided an insight on the pair’s relationship behind the scenes after Tottenham’s season has fizzled out over recent weeks.

Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy have plans in place for the summer

The upcoming transfer window is expected to see Tottenham make a number of changes to their squad with Postecoglou admitting as much recently.

During his first two transfer windows at the club, Postecoglou has been backed by Levy with a number of quality players like James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario arriving at Hotspur Way.

And this summer will likely see Spurs make some fine tweaks to their squad with a season in Europe on the horizon.

But it would not be unexpected if Postecoglou’s recent comments may have upset the Spurs chairman given how Antonio Conte’s comments went down after the game against Southampton.

Speaking on The Debrief podcast, Romano has now provided an insight from behind the scenes at Tottenham on the relationship between manager and chairman.

“It’s something that Ange Postecoglou already had in mind even before that game,” Romano said on summer changes at Spurs.

“He knew that Tottenham needed a big change in the summer transfer window and he’s together with the club on thst, so I don’t think Ange Postecoglou is unhappy with Tottenham, with the board.

“But he knows together with the board, with Daniel Levy, with all the people at the club, they need a big change in the summer.”

How many signings could Tottenham make this summer?

The Lilywhites have had an impressive season on the whole but the last few weeks have shown there is still a lot of room for improvement.

European football is going to mean strength in depth will be crucial to Tottenham’s success next season.

With the need to also find a long-term successor for Harry Kane, Romano also provided an insight on what Spurs could do over the coming months in the transfer window.

“I expect Tottenham to be very busy. I think Tottenham can get in at least three/four players this summer,” Romano said.

“Then there is Lucas Bergvall arriving this summer from Djurgardens who’s a huge, huge talent.”
