Ange Postecoglou will put his first taste of a North London Derby as Tottenham manager down as a roaring success.

Despite being down a goal twice at the Emirates, his players fought valiantly to earn a well-deserved 2-2 draw away from home. The result meant Spurs maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

Two of the stand-out performers in the North London Derby had to be Son Heung-Min and James Maddison, the pair were electric – with Son bagging two goals, with the Englishman assisting him.

But one player who didn’t necessarily get the plaudits also had a good game – and he’s having a tremendous season.

Vicario has been a solid signing

That man is Guglielmo Vicario. He’s been ace since his £17 million move from Empoli – which was a shock to many as he’d never even been linked to any sort of club before.

But he’s proving his doubters wrong. He has won over pundits and ex-players already just six games into the season.

One of these is ex-Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster, who spoke about the Italian on his YouTube channel.

“I want to talk about Vicario quickly. He’s gone under the radar this season for me at Tottenham,” he began.

“I really like the look of this goalie, I really like the look of him. He just goes about his business. Everything that he does seems to be absolutely bob-on. He’s making saves, passing the ball out lovely. He looks calm and composed.”

He’s spot-on

Viario had big boots to fill, stepping in for a spot that was taken for so long under former club captain Hugo Lloris.

He was always going to be scrutinized, but so far he’s handled the pressure really well and has put in some great performances.

We’re really happy with the Italian between the sticks. May it continue!
