Tottenham Hotspur right-back Emerson Royal has admitted Cristian Romero can put in some strong tackles in training.
It has been a positive few weeks for the Lilywhites following their defeat against Wolves last month and they’ve closed the gap on the top four.
But Emerson Royal has admitted training at Hotspur Way can get a little bit fiery with some of the tackles from Cristian Romero.

Cristian Romero’s training tackles
The Argentine has been known for some of his aggressive tackles during games which have seen his name taken by the officials.
However, he has been able to rectify his poor discipline record this season having only picked up four yellow cards all season.
But it seems he may be taking out his aggression behind closed doors at Hotspur Way with the latest comments from Royal.
Speaking on the Desimpedidos YouTube channel, the Brazilian shared what the 25-year-old Argentina international is like in training. He said: “I’ve seen few people hit like him in my life. He almost breaks your leg, but he gets the ball and comes out clean. He does it on purpose, but he knows how to hit. Like, there are people who hit but they commit a lot of fouls. You can see that he hit, that he hurt the guy, but you only see it later that he turned the guy’s ankle.”

Cristian Romero taking on responsibility
Losing Harry Kane in the summer meant Hugo Lloris’ captaincy was up for grabs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Heung-min Son was the man given the armband, however, Romero was named the vice captain alongside James Maddison.
And the Argentine has certainly taken on the responsibility of how a captain should be carrying themselves on the pitch.
The weekend was the prime example of that. There was a clamour from Spurs fans for Romero to get one over on Matty Cash after the injuries he’s caused Spurs over the years.
However, the Argentine let his football do the talking as Spurs collected their first clean sheet of the year in the league.
It would’ve been easy for Romero to throw his weight about in such a big game, but it was a mature display from the 25-year-old.
Ange Postecoglou should be proud of the way his centre-back is conducting himself, but it sounds like he may need to rein it back a little in training.
