Dominic Solanke has been discussing what he wants to achieve in his first season at Tottenham Hotspur and has revealed the message Ange Postecoglou has been drilling into the players.
Solanke has made a strong start to life at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium having scored six goals in 14 appearances for his new club.
However, the 27-year-old is not just focused on scoring goals but also having something to show for them at the end of the season in the way of trophies.
Spurs are looking to end their 16-year wait for silverware and Solanke has explained what Postecoglou has been telling the players about ending the club’s drought.

Ange Postecoglou is desperate to win trophies at Tottenham
Solanke has revealed that Postecoglou has been drilling into the players the importance of winning a trophy at Tottenham.
The striker is confident that Spurs have the squad to win something this campaign and now it’s about actually delivering. The Lilywhites are still fighting in four competitions this season and there is a real desperation for the club to take each one seriously.
Solanke told Sky Sports: “We want to do well in every competition, we’re still in every competition and we want to make it as far as possible in all of them.
“We still know we have a lot of games to play and many things can happen in football but the foundations are there, we need to kick on and stay consistent. But we all believe we can achieve great things, so hopefully we can win something this season.
“It’s what everyone here’s been waiting for, the gaffer is big on it, he’s a winner himself and he reiterates that to us all the time. I think we have the squad to do it, everyone believes we can so it’s just about doing it now.”
How are Tottenham’s trophy hopes actually looking?
Tottenham could remarkably climb from ninth to third in the Premier League when they host Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs would require three points and other results to go in their favour to do so but it just puts real perspective on their season. A win would also move them to within four points of Man City and nine off Liverpool.
Top four is the aim for the Lilywhites this season, however, with City and Arsenal both struggling, there should be no limit put on what they can achieve in the league.
