Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski has hailed midfielder Pape Matar Sarr after his display on Sunday.

It was another fine showing from Ange Postecoglou’s men at Villa Park as three big points were earned in the top four race.

And it is apparent Dejan Kulusevski was massively impressed by the performance of Pape Matar Sarr against Unai Emery’s men.

Kulusevski wowed by Pape Matar Sarr

Despite being just 21-years-old, the Senegal international is proving to be a real key figure for this Tottenham side.

Postecoglou admitted after the win over Crystal Palace that Sarr was struggling with a back issue.

However, he was thrown straight back into the starting XI on Sunday for the huge game against Villa and it was clear to see why.

The midfielder put in a David Beckham-like cross for James Maddison’s opening goal which even left Roy Keane seriously impressed.

Speaking on the Spurs Debrief, Kulusevski hailed the youngster and claimed he is capable of big things. He said: “Pape has those things, you know, magical things. It was an unbelievable cross and he’s a very good player. It was really good from him.”

Pape Matar Sarr contract

It is fair to say Kulusevski is not the only one at Hotspur Way who has been impressed with the 21-year-old.

Despite having a rocky period under Antonio Conte, the midfielder has already been rewarded with a bumper new deal at Spurs.

The Senegal international is now believed to be earning £70k-per-week in a deal which sees his stay through until 2030.

It was clear to see Postecoglou was keen to bring Sarr straight back into the starting XI on Sunday when his back issue allowed him.

Rodrigo Bentancur made way for the youngster who went on to play a huge role in the three points earned at Villa Park.

But it also has to be said that it was excellent management skills from Postecoglou who withdrew Sarr after 70 minutes when the game was won.

For a player who arrived unable to speak English, it is impressive to see just how big of a figure he has become in this Spurs side.
