Tottenham Hotspur’s record goalscorer Harry Kane was snubbed by Arsenal’s academy for two strikers who they thought were better.
The Tottenham legend made his exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer in a deal which saw Daniel Levy bring in around £100m.
And Harry Kane will be making his return to north London this evening when his Bayern Munich side take on Arsenal in the Champions League.
It will be an opposition that Kane will be very familiar with considering he holds the record for the most goals scored in North London Derbies.
But not only that, the 30-year-old England captain also spent some time at Tottenham’s north London rivals as a child in the Gunners’ academy.
However, he was released by Arsenal before he was signed up by the Lilywhites where he wrote his name in Spurs history as one of the Premier League’s greatest strikers.
Even some of Arsenal’s current players are now admitting just how good Kane was during his time with Spurs.

Arsenal snubbed Kane for two players who they thought were even better
Ange Postecoglou was only able to work with Kane for a matter of weeks before the England captain departed for Munich.
Although Kane still has the support of those in Germany, his side have been hugely underwhelming this season as they look set to lose their Bundesliga crown.
And how Spurs could do with a striker like him in their current set-up with Richarlison still struggling with his ongoing knee issue.
But it seems as if the Gunners may have been left with egg on their face after it has been revealed who they chose to develop instead of Kane.
According to The Athletic, during Kane’s days at Arsenal, there were not too many people that thought he had what it took to become a top player.
Two players who went on to play for England’s youth sides in Benik Afobe and Chuks Aneke were selected ahead of Kane at Arsenal.
Former Arsenal youth coach, Dan Buck, said: “Benik and Chuks would rock up on a Sunday and score about seven each, and poor Harry would get five minutes.”
Who do Benik Afobe and Chuks Aneke play for now?
Having left Arsenal back in 2015, Afobe has gone on to play for a vast array of clubs across the world and currently finds himself playing in the United Arab Emirates with Al-Dhafra FC.
The striker played 63 times in the Premier League with Bournemouth and returned just 10 goals.
Meanwhile, Aneke departed north London back in 2014 and currently finds himself playing in League One with Charlton Athletic.
The 30-year-old has never played a Premier League game in his career.
