Ange Postecoglou simply has to seize an opportunity that has presented itself to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday against Fulham.
Tottenham are back. After an international break that went on for what seemed like an eternity, Postecoglou‘s men are back in Premier League action – but they’ve been made to wait.
They had to watch all the other sides play this weekend, with the fixture against Fulham taking place on Monday.
But this may have been a blessing in disguise, as it’s allowed Spurs to watch how the other games have panned out – which as it turns out has presented a huge opportunity for them.
Arsenal drop points
Spurs have been in a tense battle thus far with Arsenal for the top spot in the Premier League.
Both North London sides are currently unbeaten and appear to have been matching each other result for result week in and week out.
That was until Saturday. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side took on Chelsea and dropped two massive points.
But it was nearly so much more. Chelsea were two goals to the good, but an Arsenal fight-back in the last 15 ensured that they left Stamford Bridge with at least a point.
This obviously means now Spurs have a real chance to assert dominance over their bitter rivals.
Spurs have a chance to go two points clear
If Tottenham are to win on Monday against Fulham – they go two points clear at the top of the Premier League.
This will be the first time this has happened this season. Spurs have been top, but not by clear points.
This will mean going forward that Arsenal, Manchester City and anyone else who comes close will be chasing Spurs. Their destiny will be in their hands.
This is massively exciting going forward and will, for the first time, establish Spurs as firm front-runners for the Premier League title.
