One of Chelsea’s players has slammed Ange Postecoglou’s tactics after the Blues defeated Tottenham in North London.
Tottenham allowed another two-goal lead to slip, this time to their bitter rivals Chelsea who won 4-3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The defeat leaves Postecoglou’s job in danger after his team suffered yet another implosion this season.
The Australian manager’s gung-ho approach to matches has been criticised across the campaign with his team being too easy to play against. Following their latest defeat, one of the opponents has exposed Ange Ball’s biggest weakness.

Jadon Sancho slams Ange Postecoglou’s tactics
Jadon Sancho has revealed how easy Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham were to play against and Chelsea knew exactly how they could hurt them. The former Man United winger claims that Spurs were so aggressive and proved too easy to play through.
Enzo Maresca empathised Chelsea’s need for their wingers to stay wide and create one-against-one situations. Sancho found himself in so much space on several occasions and tormented Pedro Porro.
When asked about Tottenham’s frailties in defence, Sancho told Optus Sport: “Definitely, they’re very aggressive and we knew we would catch them if we broke the lines and beat their press. The gaffer always told us in training to stay wide, especially the wingers to create the one-vs-ones, you know the overlaps for two-vs-ones.”
How Jadon Sancho pulled Pedro Porro apart vs Tottenham
Pedro Porro was ‘pulled apart’ by Jadon Sancho, according to the media after the game. The 24-year-old caused Tottenham and Porro so many problems down the Blues’ left-hand side and he even managed to score a superb strike in the first half as the hosts’ defence backed off him.
Now, the media have been tearing apart Porro’s display and his struggles against the former Manchester United man. Evening Standard gave him a 5/10 and wrote: “Backed off Sancho for Chelsea’s first goal and struggled to contain the winger all afternoon.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Express also rated him 5/10: “Pulled apart by the impressive Sancho and looked vulnerable at the back.” Football.London were slightly more lenient and awarded him 6/10: “Made a few good blocks but also came inside to leave Fernandez with plenty of space to score Chelsea’s third. Kept working away until the end with a late deflected shot past the post.”
