Ange Postecoglou has revealed his biggest motivation at Spurs ahead of his Premier League return.
Postecoglou must feel on top of the world as Tottenham Hotspur manager at the moment. The Aussie currently sits top of the division.
What’s even more impressive than this – is he has done it undefeated. The new Spurs boss has completely transformed his side and is getting the best out of all of his players.
They’re back in action this weekend following the international break and the manager will be desperate to keep his side’s fine form going.
Postecoglou’s Tottenham motivation
Part of his success has to come down to his highly motivated nature and it appears that he has something spurring him on in the back of his mind.
The Aussie states that after winning almost everything during his time at Celtic, he wants to bring similar joy to a club that has won nothing for years.
Postecoglou told Four Four Two magazine (Via Daily Record): “The biggest motivation for me was taking over a big club that hadn’t had success.
“They’re just the kind of challenges I love and it’s pretty regular in my story – taking over a club which has had a disappointing year and is craving success.
“That’s what I’ve tried to seek throughout my whole career. When I was at South Melbourne they hadn’t won the league for seven years, at Brisbane they’d never won one, Yokohama 15 years, Celtic a year – and a year at Celtic feels more like 15 years everywhere else!”
He’s certainly brought that winning feeling back…
A master of success – Postecolgou’s winning streak over his career has certainly followed him thus far to North London.
But can he do the unthinkable and get Spurs some silverware? It’s early days and we don’t want to jinx anything, but there’s just this feeling in the air at the moment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
