Tottenham have a whole host of players out on loan for the 2023/24 season, so how are they getting on so far?

Tottenham have sanctioned a whole host of loans over the past two transfer windows, as the squad continues to transform. New boss Ange Postecoglou has impressed with his style of play in his short time at the club so far.

The manager will have a whole host of decisions to make over the players at his disposal in the future. That could include a number of stars out on loan, from those that appeared to have fallen out of favour with Spurs, to the rising stars from the academy.

As we’re approaching the final few weeks of the season, here’s an overview of all the loans so far and how they’re performing.

Tottenham loans 2023/24

Sergio Reguilon (on loan at Brentford)

Left-back Sergio Reguilon has had something of a mixed season so far, since finding out he wouldn’t be in the Tottenham team. The Spaniard spent the first-half of the campaign on-loan at Manchester United, where he made a few appearances before returning in January.

Brentford made their interest known, leading to another loan move that will ideally kick off a return to form. It remains to be seen if Reguilon will have any place in the squad back at Spurs, but there will be hopes that he can at least raise his market value with the Bees.

Tanguy Ndombele (on loan to Galatasaray)

Tanguy Ndombele has failed to hit the heights at Tottenham since his big-money switch to the club. The playmaker has been sent out on loan to Galatasaray in the hopes of finding his best form once again, but it hasn’t quite happened.

The Frenchman has been reduced to being a substitute option in Turkey, earning less than 500 minutes in the league this season. It marks yet another disappointing spell, with the 27-year-old approaching the final year of his contract.

Alejo Veliz (on loan to Sevilla)

Promising young striker Alejo Veliz was sent on loan to Sevilla in January to gain some valuable experience for his future. The youngster suffered an injury before moving to La Liga, which carried over to his loan.

It means Veliz has only just started to return to action, with a few cameo appearances made at this stage.

Djed Spence (on loan to Genoa)

Tottenham full-back Djed Spence spent the first half of the season with Leeds United, but that deal was terminated by January. The 23-year-old was then sent to Genoa for the rest of the campaign, with hopes of earning some valuable game time.

Six appearances in Serie A has seen a mixed bag so far, with minutes starting off strong before tailing off in recent weeks. His ratings have also been around the mid sixes, suggesting he’s been alright so far, but there will be hopes of more consistent time on the pitch.

Joe Rodon (on loan to Leeds United)

Joe Rodon had struggled to become a regular at Tottenham, but with Leeds United, the centre-back has been a stalwart. The Welshman has continued to impress with the Yorkshire side as they continue pushing towards an instant return to the Premier League.

Troy Parrott (on loan to Excelsior)

Troy Parrott continues on his loan spells as the striker earns game time to try and break into the Tottenham team. His time with Excelsior in the Netherlands has come with goals and some impressive performances, with plenty of reports suggesting a potential transfer in the summer.

Japhet Tanganga (on loan to Millwall)

Japhet Tanganga has struggled to break back into the Tottenham team since he first made his way into the squad. The defender had a loan at Augsburg earlier this campaign, but didn’t make a single appearance before moving to Millwall.

Tanganga has had some mixed performances to start with, making a few mistakes, but he has since been key in their return to form.

Ashley Phillips (on loan to Plymouth Argyle)

Youngster Ashley Phillips has joined Tottenham with plenty of hope for the future, leading to his loan move to Plymouth Argyle. There has been some praise for his performances in the first few weeks, with hopes that he can continue that form.

Alfie Devine (on loan to Plymouth Argyle)

Alfie Devine spent the first half of the season on loan at Port Vale, impressing so much that he was recalled to move to Plymouth Argyle for some Championship experience. His spell with the Pilgrims started well, though the minutes have dried up in the last few games.
