Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison went into the game against Fulham carrying an injury issue.
The Lilywhites were served a dose of reality following their sensational victory over Aston Villa in the game prior.
And it seems James Maddison wasn’t operating at full capacity for the trip to Craven Cottage after picking up a knock during the week.

James Maddison injury news
It has been a turbulent season for Maddison in terms of injuries with the England international having already suffered a major issue.
The 27-year-old has already been sidelined for a number of months after going down in the defeat to Chelsea earlier in the term.
He has since returned and is continuing to work towards returning to his absolute best.
However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has claimed the midfielder’s dismal display on Saturday could be put down to an issue picked up in training. He said: “He had a little niggle injury-wise in training during the week. I don’t think it helped him when it came to the game perhaps. But he could’ve done more. I actually felt Spurs looked better when Kulusevski moved into his role.”

James Maddison stats vs Fulham
There were very few Tottenham players who were able to walk away from the game on Saturday with any credit to their name.
Maddison was not one of those players as the Englishman was withdrawn by Ange Postecoglou earlier than usual.
Considering the exceptional display he put on against Villa just six days prior to the trip to Craven Cottage, his showing really was well below par.
- 66 minutes played
- 46 touches
- 1 big chance created
- 0/1 successful dribbles
- 7x possession lost
- 0/2 successful crosses

The players now go into the international break, so it will be interesting to see whether this is something which may hold Maddison back.
England have called the 27-year-old up to their squad for their two friendly games.
But if this is an issue which did actually hold him back in the game on the weekend, then perhaps Spurs and Maddison need to consider pulling him out of the squad.
And the Australian will have everything crossed that none of his players pick up any issues during their respective international breaks.
