Former Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has been handed a tough start to life in the MLS with LAFC.
Ex-Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been given a true welcome to MLS in his opening two games in the division. The Frenchman called time on his Spurs career in January, having spent nearly 12-years at the club.
Lloris made over 440 appearances for the Lilywhites, keeping 151 clean sheets in a time where the north London outfit returned towards the top. Dwindling performances in his final campaign saw Guglielmo Vicario take his place under Ange Postecoglou.
With six-months remaining on his deal and seemingly no future remaining at Tottenham, Lloris made the free transfer switch to LAFC. It was a club that another former player in Gareth Bale had plenty of success with.

Hugo Lloris MLS start
Lloris has had a mixed start to life in the MLS, making his debut in a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders in late February. However, the following game saw challenging circumstances for the World Cup winner as they faced Real Salt Lake.
A snowstorm made conditions difficult for LAFC, with a 3-0 defeat coming in the clash.
Snowstorm debacle
The manager of LAFC, Steve Cherundolo, slammed the decision for the match to go ahead in the first place. He said, via BBC Sport: “It was impossible conditions. I feel terrible for the players that we put them through this.
“It was an absolute joke we had to play today. It was one of the worst professional sporting events I’ve ever seen in my life. The game could have and should have been called [off]. In my opinion, it was an absolute disgrace we had to play today.”
Hugo Lloris future
It’ll go down as a frustrating second game for Lloris at LAFC, but there will be hopes that the season will hold more beyond it. The aim will certainly be making the final series, with the possibility of adding yet more trophies to the goalkeeper’s collection.
