One player who has been particularly impressive start of the season is Destiny Udogie.
The Italian 20-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm this season and has been one of Ange Postecoglou‘s standout players thus far.
Udogie was purchased at the beginning of last summer but was loaned back to Udinese for the rest of the season – where he impressed in the Serie A.
Tottenham’s new boss made the executive decision to bring the youngster straight into the first-team squad – which now appears to be an inspired one.

Destiny Udogie has been electric for Spurs so far
So far, Udogie has played four games this season – starting all four.
He has picked up two assists for his troubles and is currently playing on an average 7.2 rating – according to SofaScore.
But it’s when you dive deep into his stats that you can see his overall impact.
One thing we’ve been particularly impressed with is his passing.
- Accurate per game: (92%)
- Acc. own half: 14.5 (94%)
- Acc. opposition half: 24.3 (89%)
- Acc. long balls: 0.5 (100%)
- Acc. chipped passes: 0.3 (100%)
Udogie rarely gives the ball away – which is vital for a player in his position as it could lead to a goal-scoring opportunity.
This could be one of the reasons Tottenham look so stable at the back.
He’s also looked astute going forward. We don’t want to jinx anything – but Tottenham may finally have a competent left-back, a problem position for so many years at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It’s been a long time coming!
For years the left back spot has been a problem. Sergio Reguilon looked destined to be the one to lock it down, but he never really did it for Spurs.
Ivan Perisic was makeshift at best under Conte, but now Udogie finally looks the business.
We can’t wait to watch him for the rest of the season.
