Radu Dragusin had an evening to forget as the defender produced possibly his worst performance in a Tottenham shirt as his side lost 3-2 to Galatasaray.
Spurs’ perfect start to the Europa League came to an abrupt halt as they were ripped apart in Istanbul by both Galatasaray’s players and supporters.
The occasion looked like it got the better of Ange Postecoglou’s team as they looked a total nervous wreck in the first half with the hosts carving out chance after chance.
But it is the performance of Dragusin that had the media talking after the game as the Romanian was quite possibly Tottenham’s worst performer.

Radu Dragusin has the worst night of his Tottenham career
That was almost certainly the worst night of Dragusin’s Tottenham career which says a lot considering some of his displays in Lilywhite.
Dragusin saw red in the North London club’s Europa League opener against Qarabag. But despite being sent off after just seven minutes in that game, this display will have been far more damaging for his reputation.
Some of the errors he made were that of a youth team player as on several occasions he got caught in possession, made wayward passes and rash challenges.
The young defender is currently filling in for the injured Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero and his performance against Galatasaray will have left fans begging their medical department to have both players rushed back to fitness.
The media react to Radu Dragusin’s performance v Galatasaray
The media have also been assessing Dragusin’s performance against Galatasaray and their verdicts do not make for pleasant reading for the £25 million man.
They all highlight the number of times the 22-year-old lost possession and handed Okan Buruk’s team so many big chances. His ability on the ball looked a worry before this match and now it looks even more of a concern.
The Evening Standard gave him a 3/10 and wrote: “Lost possession for Osimhen’s first goal after being pressed on his blindside and was caught napping for the striker’s second. Part of a defence which gave up chance after chance on another difficult and unconvincing night for the Romanian in this competition.”
Another 3/10 came from Football.London: “Made a mess of taking Davies’ ball, turning into trouble for Galatasaray’s second goal, and then let Osimhen get in behind him for the next. Looked affected by the atmosphere with his passing at times and positioning.”
A third 3/10 was given to Dragusin by GiveMeSport, who said: “Caught in possession a plethora of times, which led to Galatasaray testing Forster’s goal more than Postecoglou would have liked. Was at fault for Osimhen’s goal in the first half and struggled to find a teammate every time he was in possession.”
Dragusin has shown himself to be a top defender but he certainly dug himself a hole which will now bring major scrutiny over his future games.
